Newly released, the formal launch of Propagate, a coalition of microfinance practitioners with a deep involvement in smallholder finance.

The coalition comprises Learning Lab partners One Acre Fund and Opportunity Internatioal, as well as 4 other innovative micro and smallholder finance organizations from around the world.

These organizations have come together as a group to propagate the message that smallholder finance offers one of the greatest opportunities for growth and impact in financial inclusion today:

More than 70 percent of the world’s poor are farmers, yet only 3 percent of the demand for smallholder finance is currently being met. Propagate will influence and support the financial inclusion sector to increase the overall quality and availability of viable smallholder financial services. We will work to ensure smallholder finance supports greater farmer productivity and access to markets, leading to more sustainable farms and more prosperous farmers.
